Celeste artisanal soap is the result of a meticulous and delicate handmade production process. Made using the traditional cold-process method—which involves cold-processing vegetable oils and butters—each bar is the result of technical expertise combined with the time-honored practices of traditional soapmaking.
Celeste’s fragrance is a floral composition with subtle citrus notes: orange blossom oil, lavender oil, and ho wood. This combination evokes the lightness of spring and transforms bath time into a simple and pleasant sensory experience.
Who is Celeste soap for?
This Alcobaça apple soap is suitable for all skin types. It is especially recommended for dry and delicate skin, which benefits from the nourishing properties of olive oil and the gentleness of the cold-process formulation. It can be used daily for washing the body and face.
Ingredients and Origin
Formulated with olive oil and apple juice from Alcobaça, ingredients of natural origin and locally sourced. The essential oils of orange blossom, lavender, and pau de ho are selected for their aromatic quality and compatibility with sensitive skin. At SM Cosmetology, we prioritize high-quality ingredients, preferably of local origin.
The Celeste spring-scented soap is a conscious choice: plastic-free, free of unnecessary ingredients, made with a traditional formula, and produced ethically.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How should I store soap to make it last longer?
Celeste handmade soap lasts longer when stored in a dry place with good ventilation and away from standing water. The biggest enemy of a cold process soap is accumulated moisture — if it remains in permanent contact with water, it will soften and be consumed much faster. The ideal is to use a soap dish with drainage, which allows the bar to dry between uses. Outside the shower, store it in a cool, airy place, away from direct sunlight. With these simple precautions, a bar will last considerably longer than it appears to.
Is Celeste soap suitable for sensitive or irritation-prone skin?
Yes. Celeste soap is formulated with naturally gentle ingredients and is especially suitable for dry and delicate skin. Olive oil, rich in oleic acid, has a known affinity with the skin's lipid structure, making it a nourishing and non-aggressive ingredient. The cold process method preserves the natural glycerine produced during saponification – a humectant that contributes to skin comfort after bathing. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend performing a patch test on a small area before regular use, as is good practice with any new product.
Can I use Celeste soap on my face, or is it just for the body?
Yes. Celeste soap was developed for use on the body, face, and hands. However, for facial skin, which has specific characteristics — it is thinner, more reactive, and has distinct cleansing needs — we recommend products formulated specifically for facial use, such as the Avena cleansing bar. For the body and hands, Celeste is a solid choice, especially if your skin tends to be dry or uncomfortable after bathing.
What is the difference between cold process handmade soap and industrial soap?
The difference starts with how they are produced. Industrial soaps undergo high-temperature processes that remove natural glycerine — a valuable by-product that is then sold separately to other industries. The result is a drier product, often with additives to compensate for what was removed. The cold process method, used in Celeste artisanal soap, is done cold, which preserves the glycerine and the active ingredients of the vegetable oils used. The formula is naturally more moisturising, with greater benefits for skin hydration. It is also handmade, in small quantities, with direct control over each ingredient — the opposite of a mass production line.
